The game begins with the fact that the young man with the unpronounceable
name of Guybrush Threepwood (Guybrush Threewood), who want to become
a pirate, appears on the Caribbean island Melee (Fr. melee and a landfill.)
Three pirate leader assigned three tasks - finding the treasure stolen
idol of the governor's mansion Elaine Marley Island (Elain Marley)
and defeat fencing masters. But once Guybrush make the third test,
the ghost pirate LeChaka (LeChucka) Elain kidnaps and takes her
to the Monkey Island (Monkey Island). Guybrush, by the time needed
for a romantic relationship with Elaine, winning a team of three people,
buying a boat dealer second hand ship Stena and goes in search of a
mysterious island, hoping save the governor. In Monkey island Guybrush
meets a shipwrecked Tufrot hermit named Herman (Herman Toothrot)
and detects the vegetarian cannibal village to help find a cure for the
ghost LeChaka team.
